The noxious dark syrup

Invades my pores

Belligerent tumid blood

It creates a round, impassable orbit

Around my cranium

The dark syrup dances now, in my thorax

I solemnly ease into a bookmakers

And spill my wallet

Into the cashier’s mouth

Learning nothing

I’ll try again tomorrow
